Aromatherapy
essential oil - most people have already heard about it and how the
essential oils can help in the healing of everyday ailments. But how
many of you have actually tried these oils and apply them in your daily
lives? Using aromatherapy need not be a complicating practice - start
using single essential oil first, like lavender - and when you
feel more confident, you either buy or even make your own blends. There
are so many recipes you can experiment in the comfort of your own homes.
Lavender
(botanical name
lavandula angustifolia) is the most essential of all essential oils.It
soothes and calms, acts as an anti-depressant and sedative. Lavender
stimulates cell regeneration thus aiding the healing of burns and
wounds. It is also antiseptic and immune-boosting.
PRACTICAL and EASY ways to use Lavender :

1. Run a bath. Put 5-6 drops in bath. Stay inside bath for 10 minutes,
resting and relaxing. It helps sleep problem like insomnia. There is also
long-term benefit for sufferers of eczema if you bathe in the soothing essence of
lavender.
2.
Put 1-2 drops on edge of pillow before bedtime. It aids better sleep.
3.
Massage
1-2 drops into nape of neck and lie down with a lavender compress
across forehead. This is good for hangover.
4.
Dip a cotton bud with some lavender and apply directly to spots/pimples.
Its' antiseptic and cell regeneration characteristics will help to heal spots.
5.
Add 5 drops in 1 litre of water, shaking the bottle vigorously. Apply with
a cotton handkerchief saturated with the diluted mixture and apply directly to
your sunburned skin. Or put 4 drops in water in a plant mist spray and
spray over the sunburned areas. |
6.
Put 3-5 drops into the softener compartment of your washing machine during
your laundry wash.
7.
Fill a plant mister with water and add 1 drop of lavender. Spray onto
clothes before ironing.
To have the full benefits any any essential oil, it is recommended that
you buy 100% pure aromatherapy oils. It is even better if you can get organic
